IPIL, ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY – The Olutanga-Talusan-Mabuhay (OLTAMA) Development Alliance Project Management Office (PMO) is eyeing the creation of the Technical Working Group for Land Acquisition Management for the RenewStable Energy Project.

OLTAMA PMO Secretariat Head Engr. Venancio A. Ferrer III of the Provincial Government said that the TWG will be responsible for the lot purchase and acquisition in Brgy. Sagay, Talusan, where the solar power project will be established.

“Aside from the current PMO members, let us also include in the TWG the OLTAMA municipal planning and development coordinators (MPDCs), Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator (PPPDC), Provincial Legal Unit, and Provincial Governor’s Office,” Ferrer said.

The new TWG will assist the earlier established Project Appraisal Committee (PAC), in which the latter requires that the 15-hectare proposed land area is finally owned by the Provincial Government in order for the project to be fast tracked.

Moreover, Zamboanga Sibugay newly elected Governor Hon. Dr. Ann K. Hofer emphasized that the solar project should be prioritized, including the other 2 ongoing key projects, the Bulk Water Supply and Mariculture Park, under the identified 15 priority projects of the OLTAMA Alliance.

“We have to do these projects because we have to market Zamboanga Sibugay and with Mindanao’s role to provide food security in the country,” Hofer stressed.

She also thanked MinDA for including the province for current initiatives through the Alliance because it will really develop the local economy of the Olutanga Island and the entire province.

Meanwhile, MinDA – Area Management Office for Western Mindanao (AMO-WesMin) Chief Carlos Cerezo during the courtesy visit also emphasized that Governor Hofer already sought the support of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) legislative members, through a resolution requesting budget allotment and supplemental fund for the said land acquisition of the energy project.

The Olutanga Island’s RenewStable project will be the first hybrid energy source in the whole Philippines, operated by hydrogen, solar power and battery energy storage, which will provide a stable and renewable energy in the OLTAMA island municipalities.

Also present during the meeting were Olutanga Mayor Hon. Arthur P. Ruste, Jr., Mabuhay Vice Mayor Hon. Joval John Samonte, Talusan Mayor Hon. Bobing Edem, and Hydrogene de France (HDF) Philippines Business Development Officer for Mindanao and BARMM Mr. Benjie Aliñgasa. #
