Davao City – With the theme, Breaking New Grounds, Working for Progress, Partnering for Peace, and Fighting Poverty; the Mindanao Development Authority celebrates its tenth year anniversary by recognizing its outstanding employees through a ceremony for Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) awardees.
In accordance with the Civil Service Commission’s policies, MinDA’s awards system is designed to encourage creativity, innovativeness, efficiency, integrity and productivity in the public service by rewarding officials and employees for their superior accomplishments, extraordinary acts of services and other personal efforts which contribute to the improvement in government operations.
It can be noted that during MinDA’s ninth founding anniversary last year at the SMX Convention Center in Davao City, no less than President Rodrigo Duterte graced the event and commended the agency’s collaborative efforts in realizing lasting peace and sustainable growth in Mindanao by engaging the active participation of all sectors during the event.
This year, under Chairman Secretary Emmanuel Pinol’s leadership, MinDA opted for a simpler and more intimate celebration at their Central Office in Sasa, Davao City.
“Today, let me congratulate everyone and thank you for your dedication. But, we have to keep up with the commitment to deliver.” said Secretary Piñol.
According to the Secretary, there are still a lot of places to focus on especially the poorest provinces in Mindanao.
“For as long as people does not feel the change, the problems persist. We have to show the people that we are here to help elevate their lives,” added Secretary Piñol.
With its officials and personnel from all Mindanao offices, the anniversary started with the regular Monday flag ceremony, followed by the celebration of the holy mass before the commencement of the awarding rites. Assistant Secretary Romeo Montenegro also presented the history of MinDA as part of the programme.
The awards given include punctuality, nationalistic, career and self-development and years of service.
Created by virtue of Republic Act 9996 on 17 February 2010, MinDA is Mindanao’s lead agency in coordinating and integrating development efforts that bring about accelerated socio-economic development, committed to upholding standards for service excellence, good governance and inclusive leadership in achieving the aspirations and vision of all Mindanaoans. #
